The hotel also boasts a fine art gallery, which regularly features prominent art exhibitions from around the world.

The Bellagio is home to the aquatic-based Cirque du Soleil show “O,” an extraordinary theatrical production that has received international acclaim. This show, along with various other performances and events hosted at the Bellagio, underscores its reputation as a center of entertainment.

Architectural Marvel and Historical Significance

Design and Construction

Envisioned by casino magnate Steve Wynn, the Bellagio was designed by architects DeRuyter Butler and Atlandia Design. Its construction began in May 1996 on the site of the former Dunes hotel and casino, with a total cost of $1.6 billion, making it the most expensive hotel built at the time. The interior was styled by Roger Thomas, the executive vice president of Wynn Design & Development.

Grand Opening

The Bellagio opened on October 15, 1998, with a lavish ceremony that cost over $88 million. The opening night included a charity event for the Foundation Fighting Blindness, a spectacular performance by Cirque du Soleil, and live music by renowned artists. This grand opening set a new standard for luxury and spectacle in Las Vegas.
